Rugelis Morales, Talamanca major expressed, “Today things in this canton have changed. In the past, we celebrated with stalls and alcohol; today we do it with cultural and educational activities that highlight the best of our people. This contributes to project an example on sustainable development from Talamanca jointly with honest and hard-working people who do want to work and live better.”
To Rodrigo Arias, UNED dean “the University comes to Talamanca with a purpose, from the point of view of higher education and everything UNED can do, which is to contribute with local actors and neighbors to set the foundations to build better life conditions for this community inhabitants and mainly those at the indigenous zone.”
Through an agreement with the Shiroles Educational Farm, UNED, the only university with a college in this canton, appointed Talamanca campus as a permanent body of this institution.
